OOO ...... An honored worker of science in the Russian Federation, prof. L.T. Matveev died on 30th of November 2009 at the age of 89 years.

He is an author of more than 200 scientific works, 5 monographs and 6 books. The most famous book by L.T. Matveev is “Fundamentals of Atmospheric Physics”, which was published 4 times in RF and translated to English, German and Spanish languages.

Prof. L.T. Matveev kept up to date and was quite famous in this country and abroad as an expert in cloud dynamics. His monograph “Cloud dynamics” became a handbook for specialists of different areas of science.

From 1965 to 1975 prof. L.T. Matveev was a head of Section of Cloud Physics of World Meteorological Organization (WMO). During 10 years (1977 - 1987) he was a head of Atmospheric Protection Union of State USSR Program “Protection and environmental management of nature resources”.
